The latest WHAS-11/Courier-Journal Bluegrass Poll conducted by Survey USA* shows the Louisville mayor’s race tied.

Democratic candidate Greg Fischer and Republican Hal Heiner are tied at 45%, with 4% of voters undecided and independents Jackie Green and Nimbus Couzin at 3% and 2%, respectively.

We’ve talked about Heiner’s efforts to lure Democrats across the aisle and Fischer’s attempts to paint Heiner as a far-right Republican, and we can see the early results of those strategies in this poll; 21% of Democrats say they support Heiner and 10% of Republicans say they support Fischer. Fischer has 75% of the black vote, but trails in the white vote. Heiner leads among white men, and Fischer has a majority of the female vote.
