Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer says layoffs, increases in license fees and several other options are all “on the table” as he drafts the city budget for the next fiscal year.
On WFPL’s State of Affairs Thursday, Fischer discussed: the city budget; Metro Government’s response to recent industrial accidents in Rubbertown and Butchertown; the future of Whiskey Row; and his thoughts on Metro Council discretionary spending. You can listen to the full interview here.

It is good that the preservationists speak out and put pressure on the government and business establishment. This should continue. It is true of environmentalists and other progressive organizations.

Thank you, Harold. Funny how you didn’t feel that way before the election, but I’m always grateful when we are on the same side of an issue.
Gabe: This very important link does not work. As you know, the Mayor made a not-so-timely, slightly inaccurate, revelation regarding his father’s interest in Whiskey Row in the last minute of the broadcast. If you could let me know when you have that back up or if there’s a problem.
