This story comes to us from Kentucky Public Radio’s Stu Johnson.

Kentucky Agriculture commissioner Richie Farmer said Monday a run for Kentucky Governor is ‘Certainly a very real possibility.’  Farmer along with several other state officials accompanied Governor Steve Beshear for a bill signing at the Kentucky Horse Park.

Beshear, a Democrat. has already announced his intention to seek a second term.  Farmer would run as a Republican. He was asked if a run for Secretary of State was another option.

“All those things are possibilities, but as I said I really haven’t made that decision and it’s really something that all those things I’ll factor into my decision making process, but family first.”

Farmer and his wife have three boys, ages thirteen, eleven, and eight. Farmer indicated he is not interested in running as a Lieutenant Governor candidate.
