Republican Senate candidate Rand Paul is among the many, many Republicans campaigning on reducing the deficit. Paul says he will propose a balanced budget amendment, if elected, and he will filibuster the issue if necessary. Last week, I asked if he would be willing to cut military spending to balance the budget. He essentially said it was on the table. CN2’s Ryan Alessi followed up, asking Paul if he supports his father, Congressman Ron Paul‘s (R-TX) proposal (developed with Barney Frank, D-MA) to cut spending by withdrawing troops from foreign wars. Paul again said military spending needs to be reviewed. You can listen to that exchange here.

I bring this up again because Congressmen Frank and Paul will be on On Point today to discuss military spending. Tune in to WFPL at 2:00 to listen.
